About us
TRUCARE is an established agency and has been running for ten years. We are a small, but friendly, family-run agency. Our office is located in the Warndon Villagesl area of Worcester at 23 Farundles Avenue, Worcester WR4 0LX.
There are usually between 10 and 13 Carers working in the field, including 2 Office Staff. The Owner and Manager, Karen Speak, who has been running the company since 1997, also runs the office as well as being a part time Carer herself. Her daughter, Jenny helps Karen in the office and has recently completed her Management Diploma. TruCare intends to enhance the quality of life for everyone who utilizes its services, promoting independence wherever possible. Those with Christian values run it i.e. Honesty, integrity, respect. We are an equal opportunities employer, endorsing all anti-discriminatory practices.
All TruCare employees have to undergo training prior to employment (as well as an enhanced DBS check), and all are sympathetic and understanding of the needs of our clientele. Everyone must be mentally and physically fit to do the job; most of our Carers have NVQ (Diploma) level 2 as part of their training which is permanently ongoing. All new Carers are offered the opportunity to complete the NVQ (Diploma level 2) during their first 12 months of having started work for TruCare, and all new carers have to complete the new Care Certificate during their first 12 weeks.
TruCare is listed and approved by the local Social Services department as well as being registered with The Care Quality Commission (formally The Commission for Social Care Inspection or CSCI). We are inspected approximately once per year by the Council and by CQC (CSCI), in order to be seen to be maintaining the highest standards and you can request to see these inspection reports at any time. Following our inspections in 2007 and 2009 TruCare was confirmed as providing “Good” outcomes for the people who use our service. The most recent inspection report in July 2016 also rated TruCARE as "GOOD" and can be viewed on the CQC website (www.cqc.org.uk).
